Choose an Agent and start a chat
When you open Raiana, use the Agent selector in the upper-left corner to choose the regulatory framework relevant to your question: MDR, IVDR, FDA, or AI-ACT. The selected Agent determines the framework context used for the conversation; in the example, FDA is selected.

Use New chat below the Agent selector whenever you want to begin a separate conversation. If no chat is currently loaded, selecting this button leaves you on a blank chat screen ready for a new query. Starting a new chat prevents the new question from being added to the currently displayed conversation.

Use the Prompt Library
Open Prompt Library to find predefined prompts for frequently performed regulatory tasks within the selected Agent context. For example, the FDA library includes a prompt for a 510(k) change assessment. Select a library prompt to open its template rather than composing the entire request yourself.

Complete the highlighted fields in the selected template by clicking each field and entering the relevant values for your company, product, or assessment. When the template is complete, select OK. Raiana copies the resulting prompt into the chat input area, where you can review or adjust it before submitting. The chat input area can be resized if you need more room to inspect or edit a longer prompt.

Configure the chat input
Select the loudspeaker icon in the chat area to enable a sound notification when a long-running chat is complete. This allows you to leave the Raiana browser tab and continue other work while the response is being generated. Select the same icon again to switch the notification sound off.

Use Prompt Improver to have Raiana revise a draft prompt with AI. This is useful when you want a clearer or more effective request, and it can also help you learn what a good regulatory prompt looks like. Select the Prompt Improver button, wait a few seconds while Raiana processes the draft, and then review the improved version before using it.

Use files and My Raiana
In Raiana Enterprise, select the file icon to add files to your query. Included files can provide supporting material for the question, but file handling is an Enterprise option and is covered separately from the basic chat workflow.

Select My Raiana to use the notebook- or scrapbook-like area for company and product information. Raiana does not learn from or retain your data as model training, so information that is needed for a question would otherwise have to be entered again each time. My Raiana provides a place to keep that information for reuse; refer to the dedicated My Raiana instructions for its separate workflow.

Enable web search
Select the Web search icon when you want Raiana to look for relevant regulatory information on the internet. This can be useful for recent guidance, manufacturer information, or other material that may have become available after Raiana’s internal data was last updated.

When web search is enabled, Raiana can supplement its internal information with relevant results from the web. When it is disabled, Raiana uses only its internal data. You can check the most recent internal data update date in the lower-left corner of the interface before deciding whether an external search is needed.
Submit a query
When your prompt is ready, select the main action button in the lower-right corner of the chat area to start processing. You can also press Enter while the cursor is in the input field. Raiana then begins working on the query and displays intermediate feedback as it processes the request.

Follow or stop processing
While a response is being generated, Raiana shows intermediate activity. It first obtains context from its database and may then display its reasoning as it determines how to answer the question. You can read this progress to understand the plan being formed, or leave the tab and return when the completion sound notifies you.

If the reasoning appears to be heading in the wrong direction, select the Stop button in the lower-right corner. Stopping the process lets you prevent an unwanted or unnecessary continuation before the response is completed.

Read the completed answer
After the reasoning is complete, Raiana presents the answer in a larger, more readable font. The summary appears at the top, followed by the supporting reasoning. During long responses, the display may scroll automatically. You can stop the automatic scroll and read at your own pace; use the small button on the right to return to the live scrolling position.

Verify the result
At the bottom of a completed chat, select Verify to send the question and answer to an independent AI model for an additional judgment. The independent model has access to the same information and checks whether Raiana’s answer is correct. This AI-in-the-loop check can provide an extra review before human assessment.

The verification result is presented as an independent assessment. In the example, the judge returns a result indicating that the answer is correct. Use this check to identify possible errors, unsupported conclusions, or an incorrect direction in the original response; it does not replace human review.
Share a chat
Select Share to store the chat as it currently stands and generate a hyperlink. Use the copy button to copy the link, then send it to colleagues or post it in a collaboration tool such as Teams. A shared link remains online indefinitely. In Enterprise, it is accessible only to other Enterprise users in your organization; in non-Enterprise versions, it can also be shared publicly.

Print a chat
Select Print to create a printable version of the chat. Raiana places the conversation on a server and generates printable output. From the resulting view, use your operating system’s normal print options to send the chat to paper or save it as a PDF.
