Overview of the Raiana interface

When you open Raiana, the main screen is organized around selecting a regulatory Agent, starting or loading a chat, preparing a prompt, and reviewing the resulting answer. The available controls support common regulatory and compliance workflows, including the use of predefined prompts, optional web-based research, independent answer verification, and sharing or printing results.

Select an Agent

Use the Agent selector in the upper-left corner to choose the regulatory framework that should guide the chat. The available Agents are MDR, IVDR, FDA, and AI-ACT. Select the framework that matches your question before submitting a prompt; for example, select FDA when assessing a question related to a 510(k) submission.

Start a new chat

Select New chat below the Agent selector to begin without a previously loaded conversation. When no chat is loaded, selecting this button returns you to the same empty chat screen, ready for a new query. Confirm that you are working in the intended Agent before entering your question.

Use the Prompt Library

Open Prompt Library to select a predefined prompt for a frequently performed task. The available prompts depend on the selected Agent; in the FDA context, for example, the library includes a 510(k) change assessment prompt. This can provide a structured starting point for a regulatory assessment instead of requiring you to compose the entire request manually.

Within the selected library prompt, click each highlighted field and enter the relevant values for your case. These entries are inserted into the prompt template. Select OK when the fields are complete; Raiana then copies the completed prompt into the chat area. The chat area is resizable, so adjust its size if you need more room to review or edit the generated prompt before sending it.

Configure the chat controls

Enable or disable the completion sound

Select the loudspeaker icon in the chat area to enable a sound notification when a long-running chat is complete. This is useful when you switch to another task or browser tab while Raiana processes a query. Select the same icon again to turn the notification sound off.

Improve a prompt

Select Prompt Improver after entering or generating a prompt that you want to refine. Raiana sends the prompt through its built-in prompt-improvement capability and returns an improved version after a short processing period. Besides making the request more effective, the result can help you learn how a well-structured prompt is written. Review the revised wording before using it for your regulatory question.

Attach files in Raiana Enterprise

In Raiana Enterprise, use the file-selection icon on the right side of the chat area to include files with your query. File use is covered as a separate workflow, so select files only when that capability is available in your Enterprise environment and when the documents are relevant to the question you are preparing.

Use My Raiana

Select the My Raiana icon to open the company and product information scrapbook. You can use it to keep relevant information available for your work. My Raiana does not permanently learn from the information you provide, so information that is needed for a particular chat must still be supplied each time. The scrapbook is intended to reduce that repetition while keeping the information under your control.

Enable web search

Select the web-search icon to allow Raiana to search the internet for relevant regulatory information. Enable this option when you need recent guidance, manufacturer information, or material that may have been published after Raiana’s internal training data was last updated. The most recent internal data-update date is shown in the lower-left area of the screen.

When web search is enabled, Raiana can supplement its internal information with current web content. When it is disabled, the response is based only on Raiana’s internal data.

Submit a query

Enter your question in the chat field and select the send button to start processing. You can also press Enter while the field is active. Before sending, check the selected Agent, review the prompt, confirm any file or My Raiana content, and decide whether web search should be enabled.

Follow the processing and reasoning

While Raiana works, the chat displays intermediate feedback. It may first obtain context from its database and then show the reasoning or plan it is using to address the question. You can read this information as it appears, or switch to another task and return when the completion sound notifies you.

The reasoning can provide an early indication of whether Raiana is following an appropriate path. It is supporting process information rather than the final answer, so review the completed response as well as the reasoning that led to it.

Stop an incorrect or unwanted process

If the displayed reasoning begins to follow an unsuitable path, select the Stop button in the lower-right corner. This stops the current processing so that you can reconsider the prompt, change the selected options, or start a new chat.

Read the completed answer

After the reasoning is complete, Raiana presents the answer. The answer summary appears at the top in a larger, more readable font, followed by the supporting reasoning. The reasoning explains the basis for the result and can be reviewed as part of your assessment of the response.

Raiana may automatically scroll through the reasoning. You can stop the automatic scrolling and read at your own pace. Select the small control on the right side of the reasoning area to return to the live scrolling view.

Verify the answer

At the bottom of a completed chat, select Verify to send the question and answer to an independent AI model for an additional check. The independent model has access to the same information and evaluates whether Raiana’s answer is correct. This provides an AI-based check before human review; it does not replace the required human assessment.

The verification result may identify the answer as correct or indicate that further review is needed. Consider the judgment alongside the original question, answer, and reasoning rather than treating it as the sole basis for a regulatory decision.

Share or print the chat

Select Share to store the chat up to its current point and generate a hyperlink. Use the copy control to copy the link and send it to colleagues or post it in a collaboration tool such as Teams. In Raiana Enterprise, the link is accessible only to other Enterprise users in your organization. In non-Enterprise versions, the link may be shared publicly, including through social media.

Select Print to create a printable version of the chat. Raiana parks the chat on a server and generates output that you can send to a printer or save as a PDF using your operating system’s normal print options. Remember that sharing or printing makes the selected chat content available outside the active chat view, so follow your organization’s information-handling requirements.
